“Blast from the past”

Had this lying around in my room. Hasn’t been turned on since probably 2012. I went to change the batteries and the old ones had corrupted so I cleaned it out. I put brand new batteries in and it wasn’t responsive at all. It it possible to be fixed or has it just burned out because it’s old?
